PM’s Grand Promises, But Who Will Save the Homeless?

Must Read

LEADERS TALK, BUT WHO WILL ACTUALLY HELP?

Kuala Lumpur, 15 February – While politicians, including the Prime Minister, make grand speeches about uplifting the poor, countless homeless individuals continue to suffer, ignored and abandoned.

One heartbreaking case is that of an elderly Indian woman and her companion, who have been living in a forest near Kampong Java, Batu Satu Petaraz, for the past six to seven months. Their reality is grim—no shelter, no toilets, no proper food, and no medical aid.

> “Look at their legs—they have iron supports. They are elderly and struggling, yet they are left to survive in inhumane conditions. The man tries to work, but he is slow due to his physical condition. They barely manage with whatever little food they find. This is not life—this is suffering,” said a concerned local.

The elderly woman, frail and exhausted, is a painful symbol of a system that has failed its most vulnerable. Every day, she wakes up in uncertainty, exposed to danger, hunger, and despair. Meanwhile, politicians talk about millions in funding—so where is the help?

To those willing to make a difference, their location is near a small shop past Kampong Java, Batu Satu Petaraz. If you can help, please do. Their survival depends on it.

Enough speeches. Time for action.
