POLICE FRAUD VICTIM PLACES HOPE IN INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE, URGES HOME MINISTER TO TAKE ACTION

Must Read

Kuala Lumpur, February 5, 2025 – A victim of fraud allegedly committed by a police officer from the D9 Unit of Bukit Aman has come forward, placing trust in the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, to uphold justice in this case.

In an open letter to the authorities, the victim expressed confidence in Tan Sri Razarudin’s leadership in restoring the integrity of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and ensuring that all officers are held accountable for their actions.

“I believe that under Tan Sri Razarudin’s leadership as the Inspector-General of Police, PDRM will continue to be an enforcement body with integrity, transparency, and strong adherence to the principles of the law,” the victim stated.

VICTIM APPEALS FOR HOME MINISTER’S INTERVENTION

The victim also urged the Home Minister, YB Senator Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, to take serious action in this case, as it involves the loss of RM50,000 in personal savings, allegedly defrauded by a police officer.

“The police are the guardians of public safety and the institution that people turn to for justice. But what happens when certain officers abuse their positions for personal gain?” the victim questioned.

The individual further claimed that despite filing six police reports since 2018, no concrete action has been taken. Instead, they have allegedly received threats from the involved parties.

PDRM MUST SAFEGUARD PUBLIC TRUST

The victim emphasized that accountability and transparency must be upheld within the police force, in line with Article 8 of the Federal Constitution, which guarantees equality before the law.

“If police officers themselves violate the law and no action is taken, how can the people continue to trust the justice system?” the victim asked.

They also called upon the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) and the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) of Bukit Aman to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that no one protects the perpetrator in this case.

HOPING FOR IMMEDIATE RESOLUTION

“I only seek justice and my right as a Malaysian citizen to be protected under the law. I entrust this matter to the Inspector-General of Police and the Home Minister to ensure that the case is investigated transparently and that action is taken against those involved,” the victim asserted.

This case is not just a personal matter but highlights the importance of reforming enforcement institutions to maintain public trust in PDRM as a responsible body committed to justice and security in the country.
