Rafizi and Nasution: Sweet Promises, People Deceived?

Must Read

KUALA LUMPUR – Once again, Malaysians are being served with lofty promises by Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders, particularly Rafizi Ramli and Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Since before the last election, Rafizi has been well-known for his various formulas, which he claimed could solve the people’s problems. These included toll abolition, free education, PTPTN loan cancellation, lower car prices, and cheaper fuel subsidies. However, when PH came to power, almost all of these promises failed to materialize.

Rafizi, who is now the Deputy President of PKR, has re-emerged in the political arena with his “Ayuh Malaysia” campaign. But many are questioning—will he recycle his old, failed formulas once again?

Before the last election, Saifuddin Nasution also repeated similar sweet promises in his speeches and parliamentary sessions, offering more affordable housing, toll abolition, and free education, claiming that the country’s oil revenue could cover these expenses. However, once PH formed the government, the reality was far different.

Reality After PH Came to Power

PTPTN loans were not abolished; instead, stricter repayment conditions were introduced.

Tolls were not abolished; only some concessions were restructured.

Fuel prices were not lowered as promised, and the targeted subsidy system never materialized.

Car prices remained high because excise duties were not reduced as pledged.

Now, the people are wondering—will they continue to be deceived by the same old promises repackaged in a new form? Or will Rafizi and Nasution once again succeed in “hypnotizing” the public with false hope?

The people have the right to evaluate—are these the leaders they can trust?
