MANJUNG: A raid on an entertainment center in Taman Sentosa 2, Sitiawan, yesterday led to the arrest of 70 individuals, including foreign nationals, by the police.
Manjung District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hasbullah Abd Rahman, said the operation conducted by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division of IPD Manjung in collaboration with the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department of Bukit Aman at 3 a.m. also resulted in the seizure of various types of drugs valued at over RM91,000.
Preliminary checks revealed that 54 individuals, including 38 men and 16 women, tested positive for drugs. Among those detained were 13 local men and two Vietnamese nationals, along with the confiscation of drugs such as cannabis, ketamine, erimin 5 pills, and ecstasy.
Furthermore, a follow-up raid at a nearby premise uncovered 31 packets of MDMA weighing 545 grams and erimin 5 pills weighing 1.3 grams. The police also seized a Honda Civic estimated to be worth RM40,000.
All suspects are now remanded for three to seven days for investigation under various sections of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
