Rawang Perdana Residents Urge Immediate Action: Landslide Risk Growing More Alarming

Must Read

Rawang, 8 April 2025 — Residents of Taman Rawang Perdana, located near the Rawang Bypass, are living in constant fear as their homes sit directly beneath a steep embankment that poses a high risk of collapse, especially with the ongoing rainy season.

According to local residents, the heavy rainfall over the past few days has severely worsened soil erosion in the area. This alarming situation raises serious concerns that a landslide could happen at any moment, endangering hundreds of lives in the housing estate.

“We urgently appeal to the authorities and relevant agencies to take immediate action before something shocking happens. Every night we sleep in fear. It’s the rainy season now, and the risk is extremely high,” said one resident, who wished to remain anonymous.

The community is also pleading for widespread media and public attention to this issue, in hopes that swift action will be taken to prevent any untoward incidents.

“We hope Siasat Edition can highlight this issue. We are deeply worried. Please don’t wait until it’s too late to act,” urged a resident in a message sent to the Siasat Edition Telegram channel.

It is understood that the embankment lacks proper drainage systems, and early signs of soil movement have already been observed. Local authorities are being called upon to urgently assess the situation and implement preventive measures.

Netizens across social media have also voiced their concerns, with many urging for rapid intervention before an “unexpected tragedy” strikes.
