The Malaysian Indian People Party (MIPP) extends its gratitude to YAB Dato’ Seri Sanusi Md Nor, the Menteri Besar of Kedah, and the Kedah State Government for declaring Thaipusam 2025 as a “Special Holiday.” This decision follows the proposal made by MIPP and reflects respect and recognition of the religious, traditional, and cultural significance of the Indian community.
In his statement, S. Subramaniam, Deputy President of MIPP, stated that this move is an important acknowledgment by the state government led by PAS-PN. He also suggested that the state governments of Melaka and Pahang follow suit by declaring a “Special Holiday” for the Indian community in these states.
MIPP hopes that all Hindu devotees in the country will be able to celebrate Thaipusam with peace and sincerity. “May the blessings of Lord Murugan bring prosperity, unity, and happiness to all,” said Subramaniam.
This decision is expected to foster unity between communities and strengthen the bonds of society in Malaysia.
