KOTA BELUD, Dec 30 – The Sabah state government has committed RM124.7 million towards the development of industrial and entrepreneurial sectors for 2024, announced Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. This investment is part of the Sabah Maju Jaya Roadmap aimed at uplifting local communities through robust socio-economic initiatives.

In a statement, Hajiji emphasized the importance of empowering entrepreneurs and cooperatives to seize opportunities provided by the government to enhance competitiveness and resilience.

“This aligns with the state government’s commitment to continuously support and empower the entrepreneurial sector through various initiatives and development programmes,” Hajiji said.

He expressed optimism that with government assistance, entrepreneurs and cooperatives across the state, including in Kadamaian, could achieve significant progress, especially in tourism and agriculture.

Hajiji shared these remarks during the officiation of the Santuni MADANI Programme, organized by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) in conjunction with the Kadamaian 2024 Christmas Open House. The event was also attended by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, who serves as the Kadamaian assemblyman.

Hajiji highlighted Sabah’s readiness to collaborate with KUSKOP in implementing high-impact programmes that address the current needs of entrepreneurs and the local community.

“I appreciate KUSKOP’s commitment to assisting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) entrepreneurs and cooperatives, including street vendors and small traders, in strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem,” Hajiji stated.

He also urged KUSKOP to continue supporting MSME entrepreneurs not just in Kadamaian but throughout Sabah, ensuring that development is inclusive and widespread.
