A Storm in a Teacup

The incident, which has since led to calls for disciplinary action against the aide, Tan Khong Chong, was described by Sim as "a storm in a teacup."

A Loyal DAP Member

Sim, who has known Tan for the "longest time," characterized him as a loyal DAP member. According to Malaysiakini, the aide hurled a vulgar insult at Sim at a dinner to honour DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang and called him a traitor. Witnesses reported that the incident occurred when Sim was greeting supporters at the dinner, with the man berating him for nearly 10 seconds and also accusing him of attempting to undermine Guan Eng.

Reactions from DAP Youth Sections

The youth sections of Batu Kawan and Bukit Mertajam DAP have slammed Tan over his "rude and inappropriate" behaviour, calling for disciplinary action to be taken against him.
