Subang Jaya Police and Authorities Investigate Contractor’s Permit in Gas Pipeline Fire Probe

Must Read

SUBANG JAYA: Authorities, including the police, fire and rescue department, and other relevant agencies, have launched an investigation into the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights. One key aspect of the ongoing investigation is to determine if the contractor responsible for earthworks near the site had the necessary permits.

Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed that the investigation into the cause of the fire is still underway, and while initial assessments are being made, it is too early to confirm whether the earthworks were directly related to the incident.

“We are checking with the local authorities as to whether the contractor had a permit,” he said in a statement. “So far, we are still in investigation mode, and no conclusions have been made.”

The authorities have raised concerns about small fires reported in nearby homes, but the situation is being closely monitored. Firefighters have been deployed to patrol the area for the next 24 hours as a precautionary measure. Authorities have assured that any signs of smoke or smell will be thoroughly investigated.

As a preventive measure, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) cut off electricity supply to the affected area at 4 p.m. yesterday. So far, no thefts or other criminal activities have been reported in the area.

The investigation is ongoing, with more details expected to be released as the authorities work to uncover the cause of the fire.
