Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium to Resume Operations in Early January 2025

The Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu is expected to resume operations in early January 2025, following an upgrading and improvement project. The project, which began in August, involves a cost of over RM500,000 and is expected to be completed on schedule.

Upgrading Works in Progress

Kelantan Youth, Sports, and NGOs Committee chairman, Zamakhshari Muhamad, said that the upgrading works are still being carried out by the appointed contractor. "Currently, the drainage installation work has been completed and is undergoing leak testing before the stadium reopens," he said.

In addition, the installation of pipes and wiring is also underway and is expected to be completed by the end of November. Zamakhshari added that the recovery of the grass on the stadium pitch is expected to be fully completed by the end of December.

Stadium to Host Kelantan Darul Naim FC and Other Sporting Activities

The Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, built in 1965, has a seating capacity of up to 30,000 spectators and has long been a "sacred" ground for the state’s football team. Zamakhshari expressed confidence that the stadium will once again serve as the venue for Kelantan Darul Naim FC in the Super League and other sporting activities in January 2025.
