Suthan M Emphasizes the Importance of Unity in Perikatan Nasional for Malaysia’s Future

Must Read

Kuala Lumpur, December 2 – The Information Chief of the Malaysian Indian People’s Party (MIPP), Mr. Suthan M, made a strong statement regarding the political challenges and direction within Perikatan Nasional (PN). In a recent press conference, he urged all parties within the PN coalition to prioritize unity for the benefit of the Malaysian people, particularly marginalized communities.

Internal Crisis within Perikatan Nasional

Mr. Suthan acknowledged the tensions surrounding the allocation of important positions within the coalition, including PAS’s demand to appoint Takiyuddin Hassan to replace Hamzah Zainudin as the Secretary-General of PN. He emphasized the importance of seeing the bigger picture and prioritizing unity between PAS, Bersatu, and other parties within PN. According to him, such crises, if not addressed wisely, could undermine public trust in PN as the primary alternative in the upcoming 16th General Election (PRU-16).

Commitment to the Indian Community

As a representative of the party advocating for the Indian community, Suthan M expressed his concern about the issues faced by this community. He outlined several strategic steps that PN should focus on, including empowering education, creating economic opportunities, and improving access to affordable housing. “We have seen how the Indian community has been marginalized in key sectors. PN must be the pioneer in bringing real change to this community. If given the opportunity, I would like to see more initiatives to involve Indian youth in the technology and entrepreneurship sectors,” he said.

View on the Prime Ministerial Candidate

Regarding the ongoing debate about the Prime Ministerial candidate for PN in PRU-16, Suthan stated that the decision should be made based on consensus, not the priority of any single party. “Inclusive leadership and forward-thinking are key to the success of this coalition. We need to choose a leader who can bring all segments of society together,” he stressed.

Recommendations for PN

Suthan M also suggested several steps to strengthen PN ahead of PRU-16, including:

1. Increasing Representation of Marginalized Communities – MIPP will continue to advocate for the issues of the Indian community, ensuring their voices are heard at the national level.

2. A More Dynamic Media Strategy – PN needs to leverage digital platforms to reach the younger generation and communicate its message more effectively.

3. Strengthening Party Structure – Improving cooperation between coalition parties to avoid internal disputes.

Conclusion

In his closing remarks, Mr. Suthan M urged all PN leaders to set aside ego and focus on the primary goal – building a fairer and more inclusive Malaysia. “The people have placed their hopes in us. We cannot disappoint them,” he said passionately.

The press conference garnered widespread attention, reflecting the importance of fresh voices in PN leadership that are working to solidify the opposition bloc as a strong alternative for the people of Malaysia.
