Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) president Syed Yazid Syed Omar has announced that he will not be contesting for the FAM president position. Instead, he has offered himself to contest for the vice-president at the Election Congress on February 15.

Syed Yazid said, "I am offering myself to contest for FAM vice-president, at the same time, I on behalf of KLFA fully support Datuk Mohd Joehari to contest for the FAM president post. At the same time, I hope to be nominated as FAM vice-president as there is no ambition for me to contest for FAM president."

FAM Election Congress

The FAM Election Congress will be held next month to select the new FAM Executive Committee (Exco) members as the 2021-2025 term is about to end, with president Tan Sri Hamidin Mohd Amin confirming that he will not defend his position. The list of candidates who will contest in FAM for the 2025-2029 term will be known soon.
