MPOB, Sarawak M-FICORD to Hold Technology Transfer Programme on October 14

About the Programme

The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Sarawak (M-FICORD), will hold the Sarawak Oil Palm Technology Transfer Programme (TOT Sarawak 2024) on October 14. The programme aims to promote the adoption of innovative technologies among industry players, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance competitiveness in local and global markets.

The programme aims to involve industry players and entrepreneurs in Sarawak to encourage the commercialisation of MPOB’s innovative technologies for the benefit of the local community. The event will offer an exclusive opportunity for entrepreneurs and industry players in Sarawak to engage directly with MPOB’s researchers on their innovative inventions.

A similar programme held in Selangor last July had successfully attracted over 500 participants from various sectors, including MSME entrepreneurs. The event introduced six new technologies, bringing the total number of technologies developed by MPOB to 720. Of these, 238 technologies had already been commercialised by industry players and strategic partners.

MPOB’s research is focused on enhancing industry revenue, promoting sustainable development, and adding value. These strategies are driven by feedback from the industry and analyzed at the annual Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) Meeting.

The upcoming TOT Sarawak 2024 is expected to highlight ready-to-commercialise technologies, offering local entrepreneurs and industry players a prime opportunity to explore new ventures in line with the needs of the dynamic oil palm industry in the state.

Conclusion

The Sarawak Oil Palm Technology Transfer Programme 2024 is a valuable opportunity for industry players and entrepreneurs in Sarawak to engage with MPOB’s innovative technologies and enhance their competitiveness in the market.
