Tenggara Division’s Dissolution: A Result of Poor Leadership and Lack of Transparency

Kota Tinggi, Nov 2 (Bernama) – Bersatu’s Tenggara Division has been dissolved with immediate effect after its chief, Hassan Rasid, along with 30 members, including 15 division committee members, announced their resignation from the party.

Reasons for Dissolution

The decision to dissolve the division was made unanimously after factoring in various concerns, including a lack of confidence in Bersatu’s top leadership, whom Hassan accused of failing to manage the party effectively and lacking transparency in carrying out their responsibilities.

Poor Management and Lack of Transparency

Hassan claimed that the leadership’s move to issue an official notice cancelling the Kota Jaya Selatan, Bandar Tenggara Selatan, and Sungai Telor branch elections just a day before the polls was poor management. He further alleged that the leadership’s decision to bar Srikandi wing branches in Bandar Tenggara Selatan, Pengeli Timur, and Pelepah Valley from holding meetings and not including them in the list of delegates for the Srikandi Tenggara Division election was a clear example of their lack of transparency.

Police Reports Lodged

Hassan and representatives from the affected branches had lodged five police reports regarding the matter. He also estimated that around 500 members from the affected branches are expected to leave the party.

Tenggara Division Comprises 19 Branches

Bersatu’s Tenggara Division comprises 19 branches with a total of 1,263 members.

Conclusion

The dissolution of Bersatu’s Tenggara Division is a result of the party’s inability to manage its branches effectively and lack of transparency in its decision-making process. The move is expected to have a significant impact on the party’s membership and its future prospects.
