As a leader and activist who has long fought for the rights and welfare of the people, I want to call on all Malaysians to prioritize the values of respect and mutual understanding among one another. Malaysia is a country rich in ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity. This uniqueness should be our strength, not a reason for division.
In living together, we must remind ourselves that every ethnicity and religion plays a vital role in shaping this country. I believe that we, as a society, must respect each other and provide space for every individual to practice their beliefs and cultures. This is a fundamental principle that has long been embedded in the teachings of world religions, including Hinduism, which teaches us the importance of harmony and respecting God’s creations.
As taught in the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “Ulagam Oru Kudumbam” (the world is one family), we are all part of a larger family. We must recognize that harmony is not the responsibility of one side alone but the responsibility of us all. In ensuring Malaysia continues to grow as a developed nation, we need to make sure that all citizens, regardless of race or religion, feel respected and that their rights are protected.
As the Chief Editor of Ottrangknews, I urge all political leaders, especially those representing the Indian community in Malaysia, not only to fight for the interests of their own ethnic group but also to advocate for the welfare of all Malaysians. Let us not allow religious and racial differences to become barriers to achieving stronger unity. All parties must work together to ensure the well-being of every citizen, regardless of their background.
I would also like to remind everyone that respecting other religions is fundamental to national harmony. Let us all continue to safeguard and strengthen this unity, while respecting the religion and culture of every community in this beloved country.
