TVET Institution Planned for Ayer Kuning State Constituency
A Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution has been planned to be established in the Ayer Kuning state constituency, with Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir vowing to work towards realising the project if given a mandate by voters on April 26.
Background
The effort to establish the TVET institution was previously initiated by the former state assemblyman, the late Ishsam Shahruddin. Mohamad Yusri, who is a teacher and lecturer, expressed his commitment to realising the project, which he believes will change the quality of life for the community in the area.
Campaign Progress
The BN candidate has been visiting the ground and listening to the problems of the local community, which he believes has been effective in reaching out to voters and delivering BN’s message. He has met with voters covering more than 50 per cent of the Ayer Kuning area, and reported positive support from all races, including non-Malay voters who are increasingly open to accepting BN’s struggle.
By-Election Details
The Ayer Kuning DUN by-election is a three-cornered contest between Mohamad Yusri, Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Abd Muhaimin Malek, and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) candidate Bawani KS. The Election Commission (EC) has set the polling day for the by-election on April 26, with early voting on April 22.
Key Quotes
"This matter is already in the planning, we will work to make this educational institution an important agenda for us to change the quality of life of the community, especially in this area," said Mohamad Yusri.
