Narathiwat, March 9 – A bomb blast in Sungai Golok, Narathiwat, has claimed the lives of two defence volunteers and left eight others injured, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at around 7 pm local time on Saturday when a group of armed men in two four-wheel-drive vehicles attacked the Sungai Golok District Office. The group opened fire and threw grenades at the defence volunteers who were on duty.
Casualties
Sungai Golok Deputy Police Chief Lt. Col. Pol. Nitti Suksang confirmed that two members of the defence volunteers died on the spot, while three others were seriously injured and five suffered light injuries. All the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the Sungai Golok Hospital.
