Ongoing reports of corruption in Malaysia, particularly in the areas of Desa Petaling and Desa Sri Puteri, have caused widespread public frustration and dissatisfaction. There are reports stating that DBKL officers are extorting money from coffee shop owners every day, abusing their power. Such actions are not only unethical but also undermine the values of justice and fairness in our society.
We urgently call on Minister Dr. Zaliha to take immediate action to address these corrupt practices. It is crucial that the Federal Territories authorities intervene without delay to investigate these allegations and ensure that the responsible officers are held accountable. The actions of these DBKL officers have tarnished the reputation of our government and eroded public trust.
Furthermore, the issue with PERKESO, which is accused of taking up to 70% of unemployment benefits, has added to the burden on the unemployed. This is an unacceptable abuse of power, and we ask Minister Dr. Zaliha to investigate this matter promptly to ensure that the unemployed receive the support they are entitled to.
Additionally, the concerning trend of companies offering low salaries, some as low as RM1,200 per month, and demanding commissions from job applicants is another issue that needs urgent attention. These practices hinder economic progress and prevent Malaysians from achieving a fair standard of living.
We urge Minister Dr. Zaliha to take swift and decisive action to address these issues and restore trust in the system. The people of Malaysia deserve a government committed to transparency, fairness, and accountability. It is time for the authorities to act firmly and ensure that corruption and exploitation have no place in our society.
We can no longer wait. The time to act is now!
