Perak FC Target Top Six or Seven Finish in Super League

Perak FC are optimistic about finishing the 2024/2025 Super League season in the top six or seven, with just three matches remaining. The confidence was expressed by the Bos Gaurus head coach, Yusri Che Lah, who remains hopeful that his charges can secure a spot among the top 10 teams this season.

Improvement Needed

According to Yusri, although the team are lying seventh in the league, their position is far from secure as the points gap with the teams below them is narrow – only four points separate them. "Last year, I took over midway through the season, and we finished 11th with 25 goals scored and 55 conceded, collecting 22 points from 16 matches. There’s been improvement this year, and we still have three matches left. If the players can give their best, we might finish in sixth or seventh place," he told reporters here today.

Injury Concerns

However, Yusri said the team have suffered a minor setback, with import player Adilet Kanybekov floored by an ankle injury, which may rule him out for the rest of the season. "Adilet picked up the injury during a training session yesterday, and it’s not the kind of news we wanted, especially as we’re already short on foreign players. For tomorrow’s match against Kuala Lumpur City, he’ll definitely be out due to the injury. We’ll have to reshuffle the starting line-up, but we hope he can recover in time for the match against Sri Pahang FC on April 12 in Manjung," he said.

Remaining Matches

Perak will face KL City at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras tomorrow, followed by a home match against Sri Pahang FC in Manjung on April 12, before concluding their league campaign away at Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu on April 20.

Conclusion

Perak FC’s chances of finishing in the top six or seven depend on their performance in the remaining matches. With only three matches left, the team must give their best to secure a spot among the top 10 teams. The injury to Adilet Kanybekov is a concern, but the team is hopeful that he will recover in time for the match against Sri Pahang FC.
