Former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Mohd Zaid Ibrahim, has stated that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has “lost” in the issue surrounding the Addendum Decree related to Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s case, which was raised in court today.
Zaid mentioned that, based on the revelation of a letter from the Pahang Palace disclosed in court, the application by the former Prime Minister, Najib, would now become a public focus.
“Now everyone knows that the Addendum Decree exists. It has been acknowledged by Anwar, the Attorney General, and the Pahang Royal Council. The law should respect this matter,” said Zaid in a tweet on X today.
Commenting on the calls for Anwar to resign, Zaid suggested that the Prime Minister might have received unwise advice from the Attorney General and the Minister of Law.
“President Richard Nixon of the United States (37th President) resigned over the Watergate scandal. Similarly, former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson did the same,” he said.
Zaid added that he believes Anwar, the Attorney General, and the Minister of Law may need to consider stepping down.
